Liposuction isn’t a cure for poor eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle!
One of the best and easiest ways to maintain a healthy weight is to eat a good breakfast. I know, I know, we’ve heard it a million times: It’s the most important meal of the day. But too often, people turn to high-fat convenience foods because they’re just too busy in the morning, or they stick to the same bland, healthy options in an effort to be “good.” And what fun is that?
One of the best things I’ve been eating lately is oatmeal. It’s not as boring as you might think! It’s great for your heart, low in fat, and high in fiber. Prepackaged packets of oatmeal are filled with sugar and chemicals. Making your own oatmeal takes only moments and, taste-wise, is a world away from commercial oatmeal. Did you know that oatmeal can be made in batches and reheated? You can bring a small container to the office if you don’t like to eat first thing in the morning.
Here are some ways to make your oatmeal exciting:
-Saute chopped fruit, like apples or pears, in cooking spray and add cinnamon and a
touch of brown sugar. You’ll have “apple pie” oatmeal!
-Make your oatmeal with light coconut milk and top with chopped almonds and sliced
mango.
-Add dark chocolate chips and a tablespoon of peanut butter.
-Top with berries, Greek yogurt, and a drizzle of honey.
-For a change, try steel-cut oats! These cook beautifully overnight in a slow cooker. Just add 4 cups of liquid per 1 cup of oats.
