Dr. Elliece S. Smith is a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist who has been in Private Practice for 26 years. She received her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine (# 2 in her graduating class) and did five years of Post-graduated training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Howard University Hospital. During her years of Private Practice, she has also served as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Prince George’s Hospital Center (1992-1995 and 2003-2006) and is currently Chairman of the Department of Gynecology at Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, MD. Throughout the 26 years of her surgical career, she has always exhibited concern about her patient’s post-op physical appearance. On many occasions, her surgical technique has included revisions to previous surgical scars (done by other physicians) or mini tummy tucks while performing OB-GYN surgery on her patients. In 2005, Dr. Smith decided to transition her private practice. She phased out Obstetrics and, as a natural progression, introduced “A Brand New You” – cosmetic surgery aimed at helping her patients recapture the body that time and childbearing had changed. The mainstay of her focus is Tumescent Liposuction (for men and women). She received her training in Tumescent Liposuction by the inventor of the procedure, Dr. Jeffrey Klein. She also went back to Dr. Klein and had liposuction done on herself in order to experience the procedure from a patient’s prospective. She is a firm believer that any cosmetic procedure must be done in the safest manner possible and therefore she does strictly Tumescent Liposuction under local anesthesia. This eliminates the risks of general anesthesia, minimizes bruising and allows for a minimal of “down time” with speedier recovery. She also does labial trimming, perinealplasty (vaginal tightening), laser hair removal and spider vein treatment. Each patient is carefully evaluated with special attention paid to his or her personal goals and expectations. Dr. Smith is committed to helping you achieve the body image you desire.
