Dr. Louis Cole, an Associate of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, trained under Jeffrey Klein MD, the creator of the Tumescent technique. He believes liposuction by the tumescent technique is the safest form of liposuction and yields the smoothest and most satisfying results.

Tumescent Liposuction by local anesthesia avoids the unpleasant side-effects of general anesthesia. The local anesthesia persists for hours after the procedure, therefore reducing the need for additional narcotic analgesics.

The procedure is characterized by the use of microcannulas to maximize the amount of fat extracted and minimize the recovery time. The small operative incisions are left open to drain, thereby reducing the post-operative swelling, bruising and tenderness. Patients tolerate the procedure better and are able to return to daily activities in 1-2 days.
